In the past 24 hours, on 7 January, Russian occupation forces in the area of Operation United Forces (OVK) broke the ceasefire three times, once with weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreements.

This has come to the fore from the report of the OVK staff.

“Near Katerinivka, Russian mercenaries fired at Ukrainian positions with grenade launchers of various systems and firearms. The occupiers fired 120 and 82 mm mortars in the direction of Kamjanka. Not far from the Novotoschkywske settlement, the enemy fired light and heavy tanks. Shots were fired from anti-rifles and heavy machine guns,” it says.

Ukrainian defenders opened fire without using weapons prohibited by the Minsk Agreement. He forced the enemy to stop firing.

“As a result of the hostile action, there have been no losses in government units … As of 7:00 a.m. on January 8, there has been no ceasefire violation on the part of the Russian occupation troops,” said OVK staff.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces are in control of the situation in the area where combined forces are operating and continue to perform their assigned functions in the defense and prevention of armed aggression by the Russian Federation.
