Negotiations with the three teams “going well”

30.11.2021 | (rsn) – It is almost certain that in the coming year, Premier Tech’s name will also be found in Peloton. But where the Canadian company will put its money in 2022 is not yet clear. Premier Tech CEO Gene Belanger has now hinted to Radio Canada that something new could happen in the coming week:
“We are talking to a few teams, three of whom are serious. It is going well. We hope that everything will be sorted out before the new season. But there is still a lot to be done in the coming weeks. If It doesn’t work, it’s okay for later seasons as well: we’re aiming for June, between the Giro and the Tour,” Belanger said.
Premier Tek was previously a co-sponsor of the Astana team, but said goodbye to Alexander Vinokourov following his return – just like team manager Yana Seal, now at Lotto Soudal. Premiere Tech has since held talks with a number of teams, primarily Quebeca — rumors of collaborations with NextHash, BikeExchange and Israel Start-up Nation — but all without result so far.
During the talks, previous Astana drivers Jacob Fuglsang and Hugo Houle already signed with Israel start-up Nation, whose boss Sylvan Adams lives in Canada. So it’s quite possible that Premiere Tech will end up as a sponsor, especially since the Canadian company will continue to work with Haule:
Together, the two announced on Tuesday that they would form a Canadian U23 team called Premier Tech. It will be led by ex-professional Flavian Dasonville and will include ten drivers, seven of whom are Canadian.
