The scientist, often referred to as the “Darwin of the modern age”, died on Sunday at the age of 92 in the US state of Massachusetts, as announced by his foundation. on Monday. Longtime Professor at Elite University Harvard Gave its name to a scientific discipline with his work “Sociobiology” in 1975. His thesis in the final chapter that human behavior is largely genetically determined was controversial.
In later years Wilson turned more and more towards environmental protection and warned of the destruction of biodiversity by humans. The biologist wrote hundreds of expert articles and over 30 books during his scientific career. For two books – “Biology als Schickl” and “Die Enmeissen” – he was awarded prestigious prizes.
