The cult heroes Sam & Max are known for embarking on a new adventure. The release period for this project has now been specified – also because there is now a publisher for the game.

At the beginning of the adventure genre, Sam & Max was one of the famous sports series, now it is back in a new crime. On Sam & Max: This time it’s virtual, Which was announced in summer 2020, is not a very classic adventure game. Rather, the developers of Happy Giant take on virtual reality.

You can also now find a publisher for the new VR adventure, as announced now. Accordingly, Big Sugar will handle this part. In the order of the announcement, the release period was also tightened. Although there is no special release date yet, it is now clear that the game will cause a sensation in June 2021. Then the release should by no means exclusively take place only for Oculus Quest – as previously believed – but thanks to a publishing deal for all the famous VR platforms on PC as well as the PlayStation via PSVR .

Sam & Max: This time it’s virtual will be the first completely new game within the franchise in a decade. The popular pair of rabbits and dogs have to solve a new difficult case. Here you can definitely help and this time you can use all kinds of VR-specific mechanics.

The development team also includes Steve Pursell, the original inventor of Sam & Max. He advises developers on matters of story, design, layout and more. Also on board are Peter Chan and Mike Stemm, who both played a part in the original LucasArts game Sam & Max hit The Road, released in 1992.
