The fifth generation of the Samsung Galaxy Watch is available in two sizes as the base model and the more robust Pro version. A cellular module is available at an additional cost.
In addition to the new folding smartphone, Samsung has also introduced its next-generation smartwatch: the Galaxy Watch 5 comes in several variants, including a more robust Pro model, and will be available starting August 26.
All models use WearOS as the operating system. You have the Bioactive Sensor introduced again over its predecessor, which has three sensors for optical heart rate, electrical heart signal, and bioelectrical impedance analysis.
The Body Composition Measurement Tool provides a snapshot of overall health, complemented by offerings for personalized workouts and progress tracking. In the rest phases, Galaxy Watch5 models provide recovery data – including post-workout heart rate data with a high endurance component and personalized recommendations for fluid intake based on the body’s own fluid loss.
The Galaxy Watch5’s IP68 waterproof housing is made of 40 or 44 millimeters of aluminum, with a round AMOLED display measuring 1.2 or 1.4 inches in diameter. Prices are 299 euros for the smaller version and 329 euros for the larger model.
For 469 euros, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with a titanium case should be celebrated, especially in outdoor use. Furthermore, the battery and case are generously dimensioned at 45mm.
All variants are also available with an additional LTE module for a surcharge of €50.
