Epic Games has announced that the Short Night Festival will take place in Fortnite’s Party Royale mode on this Saturday, February 20, 2021. During this 24-hour event, twelve animated short films will be screened, including the nominees and winners of the Academy Awards, BAFTA and Emmis.
The film festival begins at 8 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2021 and will be repeated 24 hours without a break until 8 pm on February 21, 2021. A round of films will take approximately 30 minutes, so that interested parties can jump in and exit at any time if they have missed a film or want to watch it multiple times. There are German subtitles for dialogue films that can be switched to Fortnite’s audio settings using the “subtitles” function.
Any party can watch in Royal mode or in Battle Royal mode through the Picture-in-Picture function. As in real cinema, recording or streaming of short films is not allowed. Any recorded material is therefore automatically reproduced.
One of the films announced is Bench, one of the candidates for the BAFTA nomination. The film’s award-winning director Rich Weber is also excited and said, “The positive response to the debut of the bench was one of the highlights of last year. We are very keen to show the film at Fortnite to contribute to the magic of the short film festival at Party Royale. “
With the introduction of Short Night, all Fortnite players can unlock the new Jumbo Popcorn Emote on February 20, 2021, 01:00 pm at the Item Shop.
