Last November, another additional feature was rolled out for Google One customers, which is now available in other international markets as well. With immediate effect, Google has a “virtual private network” on offer so that mobile users can surf the Internet in a secure way from the outside world. Unfortunately, a few months ago the new feature only debuted in certain markets, not ours. But now the wait for German Google customers is over.
Google’s VPN for Android Devices Now Available in Additional Regions
Although Google usually provides cheap internet services, you will have to pay a few euros more for a VPN. The optional “private” network tunnel is only included in Google One’s 2 TB package, available for €9.99 per month. Google’s VPN has been available in other markets since early August, including our beautiful Germany.
This feature is available for Android phones in these locations: Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, the United Kingdom and the United States. “- via google
Incidentally, Google only offers its VPN service on mobile devices with the Android operating system. Of course, this requires the Google One app and associated subscription.
Why connection via VPN in private area?
Internet access through VPN protects you from the outside world. You surf the web like a shielded tunnel. A VPN tunnel is especially recommended in public WiFi networks to make yourself less vulnerable. In the past, VPNs were mostly only found in the professional sector, but there have long been countless VPN providers for private clients.
We never know who is on a public network. But a VPN generally gives you a little more anonymity on the internet itself. From time to time VPNs are also used to surf the net using a different country code. But that’s not what Google’s solution is about.
