What concluded at the end of the season: Ramona Hofmeister and Stefan Baumeister won the team competition at the home World Cup in Berchtesgaden.
This season it was disappointing for German snowboarders in team competition. But the famous knot burst at the home World Cup in Berchtesgaden.
At the end of the season, overall World Cup winners Ramona Hoffmeister and Stefan Baumeister, second overall, started in the mixed parallel slalom – the pair’s first this season. And Germany’s best snowboarders showed a sovereign performance. Even with strong opponents like Switzerland, yesterday’s winners Julie Jog and Dario Caviezel were clearly defeated in the quarterfinals.
Win the “Icing on the Cake”
Canada were waiting in the semi-finals – this team also did not cause any problems for Hoffmeister/Baumeister. In the final it was against Austria. Against Alexander Peyer and Sabine Schoffman, however, a lead of 0.09 seconds was enough for the win. “It doesn’t get any better,” said Hofmeister with a smile on ZDF. A season finale couldn’t be better – and then at home. That was the icing on the cake.
Caroline Langenhorst and Yannick Engenend were eliminated in the round of 16. “We did our best, but today was not our day,” Langhorst said.
