While people have generally been very happy with The Game Awards over the years, there is one recurring complaint; Many people think that it overstays its welcome and goes on too long.
So Geoff Keighley and his team decided to listen and do something about it. In a Twitter audio stream, Keighley now explains why we should expect a smaller show this year:
“One thing we’re doing this year is we’re trying to shorten the show a little bit. I won’t say anything officially until we’re through with our rehearsals, but We think it will be a very short show.” year will be.”
He explained this decision in more detail, saying:
“We feel there is a bit of fatigue with how long the show has been on, there are a lot of games and a lot of things that want to be a part of it, but we are narrowing those things down, hopefully. Would be a little more. For a well-organized show.”
Still, it doesn’t look like The Game Awards will limit game announcements like they did before. Approved is that we should expect the show “has included over 50 sports in some way”.
If you want to watch the show live, The Game Awards starts at 01:30 (CET) on Friday. However, if you choose to sleep in at this somewhat ungodly hour, we’ll report it all.
