Yesterday was a good day for all Street Fighter fans. At The Game Awards, Capcom shows gameplay from the four fighters and confirms Street Fighter 6’s release date of June 2, 2023.
Capcom shows off gameplay of the four fighters at the Game Awards. Three of them are new, one is making a return:
- Menon (new) is a Judo champion and a supermodel. Her fighting style combines ballet with judo (and yes, it’s as cool as it sounds).
- Maria (new) is built like a Spartan (and has a necklace helmet of sorts) and raises lions for fun. His attacks are slow, but incredibly powerful.
- Reminiscent of the JP (new) M Bison. He uses Psycho Power and can teleport around the screen.
- DJ (Comeback) is a musical kickboxer. It’s all about the kick and the rhythm.
Otherwise, the trailer mainly focuses on the World Tour mode. World Tour Mode is a single player mode in which players travel around different countries around the world.
Of course, mini-games shouldn’t be missing there either. At first glance there are karate, cooking (?) and basketball.
Street Fighter 6 includes a diverse roster of classic characters like Ryu and Chun-Li, and interesting newcomers like Luke or Manon.
Capcom also promises that the game will be more beginner-friendly thanks to “modern control modes”. innovation like drive gauge or an in-game caster should help.
pre order Available now, the game will be available on June 2 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows and Xbox Series X|S. A special arcade version will also be released in Japan during 2023.
