Tennis,Canada to face Australia in Davis Cup final

MALAGA (AP) – Canada’s tennis men are in the Davis Cup final for the second time in their history. The team, led by world number six Felix Auger-Aliassime, who defeated Germany in the quarter-finals, beat Italy 2–1 in Malaga.
In the final on Sunday (1 pm/Servus TV and DAZN), North Americans meet Australia. The 28-time Davis Cup winner beat Croatia 2-1 on Friday. This will be Canada’s first title since losing to Spain in the 2019 final.
In the first semi-final game on Saturday, Lorenzo Sonego gave Italy the lead against Denis Shapovalov 7:6 (7:4), 6:7 (5:7), 6:4 in front of 9,423 spectators. Auger-Aliassime drew against Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-4. Auger-Aliassime/Vasek Pospisil won the deciding doubles match 7:6 (7:2), 7:5 against Berretini/Fabio Fognini.
