Canadian tennis men are in the Davis Cup final for the second time in their history. The team, led by world number six Felix Auger-Aliassime, who beat Germany in the quarter-finals, registered a 2-1 win against Italy in Malaga on Saturday.
The North Americans will take on Australia in the final on Sunday (November 27, 2022, 1 PM). The 28-time Davis Cup winner beat Croatia 2-1 on Friday. This will be Canada’s first title since losing to Spain in the 2019 final.

In Saturday’s first semi-final, Lorenzo Sonego put Italy ahead 7-6 (7:4), 6:7 (5:7), 6:4 against Denis Shapovalov in front of 9,400 spectators. Auger-Aliassime drew against Lorenzo Musetti 6-3, 6-4. Auger-Aliassime/Vasek Pospisil won the deciding doubles match 7:6 (7:2), 7:5 against Berretini/Fabio Fognini.
