Tesla offers electric Cyberquad for kids

US electric car maker Tesla has introduced an electrically powered four-wheeled Cyberquad for children ages 8 and older, priced at US$1,900 (about 1,676 euros). The quad in the design of Tesla’s Cybertruck is available in the US Tesla store starting Wednesday.

The marshal, angular design with lighter stripes on the front and rear is carried over by the Cyberquad from Tesla’s Cybertruck, which was designed by Tesla’s chief designer Franz von Holzhausen. Holzhausen itself can also be seen in the video on the quad, although with a dead weight of 55 kg it can only bear a maximum of 68 kg. According to Tesla, the Cyberquad has a steel frame. The seat is padded.

The design of the Cyberquad is based on the Telsa Cybertruck.

A 500W electric motor drives the Cyber Quad’s rigid rear axle, which is accelerated by a single brake disc via a handbrake lever. The quad should reach a maximum top speed of 10 mph (about 16 km/h). Kids move with thumb throttle. If necessary, the top speed can be limited to 8 km/h at the push of a button so that the little ones do not move away from their parents so quickly. It should be able to run at a speed of 8 km/h even in reverse gear. The 288 Wh battery should bring the vehicle about 25 kilometers before plugging back into the socket to charge the Cyberquad. Charging time should be around 5 hours with the charger attached.

Tesla’s CyberQuad is delivered as a kit, so parents can still tinker with some. However, the work is limited only to the assembly of the handlebars and the attachment of four profiled tires and rear shock absorbers, which makes the Mini-quad a little more comfortable and gives it traction during off-road driving. The preload of the shock absorber can be adjusted. On the other hand, the front steering axle is rigid, as the instructions show, There are no front brakes.

The earliest delivery of CyberQuad should be in two to four weeks. So on-time delivery before Christmas is not guaranteed. In any case, Cyberquad is currently only being distributed in the United States—with the exception of Hawaii, Alaska, and Puerto Rico. It is unknown when and at what cost the Cyberquad will arrive in Germany.
