The Charger isn't a quiet streamer: Dodge lets electric cars exhaust louder

Charger is not a cool streamer
Dodge gives the electric car a loud exhaust

Despite its electric drive, the Dodge Charger Daytona SRT concept car is said to exude V8 nostalgia with a sonorous exhaust system. True to the motto: Pointless and fun – with 126 dB. The electric model, which looks like a typical muscle car, is expected to be available in 2024.

While the big US automakers have long jumped to the electric train, Dodge has been a stranger to electric cars until now. But now, with the Charger Daytona SRT concept, the Stellantis brand is giving a solid look at an electric model that will likely be available from 2024 onwards.

Unlike current chargers, the charger concept has backdoors.

Visually, the Stromer looks like a typical muscle car. Instead of a stepped body, the Future Charger’s four-door instead two-door relies on a hatchback body with small exterior mirrors and door handles that are flush with the sheet metal. LED lights span the full width at the front and back. Modern outer skin with high recognition value should be specially streamlined. The Charger concept does not have rear doors.

The Dodge 800 doesn’t make any significant performance data for full Banshee all-wheel drive or battery capacity and range. However, the Stormer should outperform the Charger Hellcat. In its latest expansion phase, the Charger SRT Hellcat churns out over 800 hp and a top speed of 100 km/h in under four seconds.

Because it’s a performance car, the electric charger has also been given an “exhaust” that’s supposed to sound just as powerful as the Hellcat with the V8. The Charger is the first electric car to have an exhaust system; It comes from Fratzonic. The system is said to explode 126 dB against its environment. The so-called eRupt transmission, thanks to an electromechanical circuit, provides the drive switching points that the shoulders should throw behind the seat. The acceleration boost is also done by pressing the PowerShot button on the steering wheel.

The charger has come in the display present in the cockpit. Behind the steering wheel is a large-format digital cockpit, and there’s also a generous-sized touchscreen in the center console. The cockpit consists of massive switches and buttons. However, the steering wheel has bigger buttons. Separate seating for both rows of seats surround the equipment, along with a heads-up display, a panoramic roof made of dark glass and a pulsating red ambient light.
