The new version of the youth bike – with the propane Yuma, the third generation of growing gravity for kids and teens – arrives at the mail order company’s online shop. Supplied with 24 wheels, the bike can be converted into 26 using a flipchip. It shouldn’t be inferior to a full-blown bike in any way: 140mm of suspension travel and SRAM components provide plenty of potential.

Propane Yuma: information and prices

Like its predecessor, the Propane Yuma has an aluminum frame. The rear end is designed as a single-joint that provides 140 mm of travel. Among other things, the internally routed cables and revised rear end are new. Delivered with 24 wheels, the Yuma can be converted to 26 with an in-house grow-up kit. Components for the drive come from SRAM – RockShox and Manitou are responsible for the chassis.

# Propain Yuma – The third version of the Little Trail Sweeper has been improved in detail, but still relies on a single-joint rear end with 140mm and a possible change from 24″ to 26″ wheels.

Propane claims now in third edition kids mountain bike The Yuma was more or less simple – it shouldn’t be inferior to a bigger bike in any way. And in case you miss out on the size comparison, you probably won’t recognize the Yuma as a kids bike in a photo. A lightweight aluminum frame, a suspension system optimized for kids, a balanced geometry and, last but not least, the possibility to change wheels from 24 to 26 using Flipchip, make the bike exciting for youngsters. Even if only one frame size is offered, the option to adjust the wheel size should keep the Yuma interesting in the long term. Propane recommends a bike with 24 wheels for altitudes from 1.25m to about 1.50m. 26 with a height of 1.40m to 1.55m should cope best. Propane says the maximum weight of the rider is 80kg.

The rear end has been modified and now has a flipchip, otherwise, as with the predecessor, a single-joint is still used. According to Propane, the Simple system is ideal for kids’ bikes. Not only does weight play a role, but so does progress and sensitivity for light pilots. On top of that, the system is easy to maintain.

# Like the predecessor, the Consignor relies on a simple single-joint rear suspension system, which should have some advantages, especially for lighter riders.

Another new feature of Jugendfully is internal cable routing. With the predecessor still running down the down tube, cables can now be found inside the frame, giving the bike a neat look. Plus, the frame now has room for a bottle holder. Something has also changed in terms of frame protection. Newly developed protectors for the down tube and chainstay should help protect the frame better. With Across frame bearings, which are also protected by dirt shields, the frame should last a long time.

There’s also an ISCG holder, space for a water bottle of up to 0.5 liters and a toolbag that makes use of the space in the frame triangle behind the damper. There should be room for a latch, repair kit or multitool. The Yuma can only be ordered in two colours, but there is an option to choose the color of the headtube badge, frame decals and handle.

Yuma would like to achieve a balanced geometry with propane. Flat steering angle and deep bottom bracket ensure safe handling. In addition, the very low standover height enables the offspring to reach the ground with their feet as quickly as possible. Wheels can also be converted from 24″ delivery condition to 26″ wheels using the flipchip located on the rear wheel mount. This is followed by a change in chainstay length, which increases from 420 mm to 432 mm, as well as the wheelbase, which has been increased by 12 mm from 1,099 to 1,111 mm.

Furnishing

When it comes to equipment, propane makes some compromises and delivers the bike in a worthy state. In addition to the SRAM GX drive, which comes as an 11-speed version due to its size, SRAM Guide T brakes are installed, which should be more than enough in this weight class. Another highlight is of course the Newman Evolution XA25 wheelset, which shouldn’t add too much weight. A Manitou Machete Junit suspension fork with 140mm (we’ve already presented the Junit series specially developed for kids here): Junit products for children and youth) and RockShox Deluxe Select R damper chassis. A variable seat post is not on board, but can be retrofitted according to propane – cable routing is available.

# SRAM Components – Depends on Americans for propane drive and brakes. The SRAM GX 11-speed gearshift and shift levers are attached as well as Guide T disc brakes.

# Bottle Holder and Toolbag – The predecessor had to do completely without it, propane has improved here. From now on, a bar or repair kit can also be carried in a 0.5 liter bottle as well as a toolbag to quench your thirst.
