The Canadian entry in the two-coin “A Royal Celebration”, set for 2021, features stunning images weighing in at one side (31.1 grams) on either side of a silver coin. The reverse includes a revival of the equestrian monument of Queen Elizabeth II created by Canadian artist Jack Herman and unveiled in 1992 by Her Majesty on Parliament Hill in Ottawa. This majestic monument with the Queen’s horse, the Centennial, enters Redue Hall, currently the official residence of the Governor General of Canada. The Ovarian is a numerical showpiece, with fine carvings of all four of Queen Elizabeth’s paintings that appeared on Canadian coins during her reign.
The Royal Mint commissioned British heraldic artist Timothy Noad to design a fine silver coin. The reverse, from 1926 to 2021, depicts the imperial initials, the floral emblem of the nations of the United Kingdom, as well as the first “My heart and my spirit” inscription “My heart and my devotion”. In 1957, a Christmas message was given by the Queen. Her majesty, created by royal mint designer Jodie Clarke, portrays the Queen’s portrait. The portrait was unveiled in September 2015 to mark the fact that Queen Elizabeth became Britain’s longest serving emperor.
