Ubisoft has announced that The Settlers will reboot on PC on Friday, February 17th, 2023. The game console would later also be served under the name The Settlers: New Alliance. The game is distributed exclusively through the Ubisoft Connect Store and the Epic Games Store.
RTS Odyssey will be released on February 17, 2023
While Windows PC is the start, cloud gaming service Amazon Luna will follow later, along with Xbox, PlayStation and Nintendo Switch.
The new The Settlers title has “evolved” after a great odyssey from building strategy game to real-time strategy game that has caused fans of the series to riot time and time again. There was already a beta test in early 2021, during which it quickly became clear that the real development strategy game was softened into a pseudo-RTS:
- The Settlers: Ubisoft’s RTS Odyssey Gets Endless
Ubisoft now touts itself as a “real-time development strategy game” that involves exploring countries, meeting factions, and expanding your settlement accordingly. Frustrated players see the game too far from the original vision.
three game modes and a little new
In the game that is now finally planned, players have a total of three game modes to choose from, two of which are based on the actual single-player campaign.
Basically, players have the option of playing the solo campaign in normal or extreme mode, or playing alone or cooperatively against the AI or up to seven opponents on a total of 12 maps.
- solo campaign
- extreme mode solo campaign
- Battle against AI or between 8 players
The game is based on Ubisoft’s Snowdrop engine, and according to the first screenshots and videos, it’s less historical and more fantasy.
The Settlers: New Alliance will be available in a standard edition, which includes only the main game, and a deluxe edition with additional digital content, digital concept art and soundtrack.
