Even professional musicians get it wrong sometimes…
Not only were the remaining talent excited at the final blind audition for “The Voice Kids” on Friday evening. Their coaches also worked hard to get the young singers into the team.
In a fight for jazz fan Ben (12), Lena Meyer-Landrut (30) made a minor mistake.
The student is really capable of music, plays drums as well as piano. But his big love is jazz. He gave a small sample on Friday evening. On stage, Ben performed “Wonderwall” by Oasis to a jazz version by Paul Anka (80).
The coaches did not expect such numbers. The excitement was even greater. lvaro Soler (31) and Lina buzzed one after the other. Vincent Weiss (29) and the fans also turned around. Ben had convinced them all.
Lena was over the moon and praised her performance to the highest degree: “This particular version of this song with such a beautiful voice, requires a lot of courage. In any case, she will be rewarded with a four-way buzzer.” To Alvaro, it was clear: “You understood what jazz meant.”
Benefit for them: He and Ben have only one favorite musician – superstar Phil Collins (71). The coach sensed an opportunity to lure talent to his team and grabbed the guitar. “I can sing you something by Phil Collins.” Lena would have preferred to have the final word on the song selection and politely asked: “Can I ask for something by Phil Collins? How about ‘Can you feel the love tonight?'”
Here, however, the composer had made a mistake and had to be enlightened by Alvaro: “He is from Elton John.” Her colleague with a wink: “Lena, you’re out!” For Ben, the coach finally performed Phil Collins. The world hit “Another Day in Heaven” and added “Ben, join my team” on the back.
Even the imaginists had to admit: “Alvaro, you got it.” The pop star was rewarded for his efforts. In the end Ben chose his team.
