He made his film debut in 1954 in “And Heaven Laughs”, later thrilled the public in the cult series “I Marry a Family” by Peter Wake. At the age of 92, the Austrian suffered a stroke. After rehab, he works at home while recovering.

Austrian actor Peter Wake suffered a stroke in late summer. His son Philip confirmed this to the newspaper “Build”. The seizure affected the right side of Wake’s body. The “I’m Marrying a Family” star was unable to speak several times after the incident. After six weeks of rehab, 92-year-old Wake is now back home in Vienna, where his son says he still needs care. Together with a physiotherapist, he works on himself every day to learn to walk again.

Actor Peter Wake, who was born in Vienna, initially worked as a stage actor and made his film debut in 1954 in “And the Sky Laughs at It”. In 1955 he appeared in the first “CC” film as Archduke Karl-Ludwig. From the 1960s he was also known to a wider TV audience and initially performed concerts such as “We Make Music”.

Her role in the cult series “I Marry a Family” (1983-1986) remains unforgettable to this day. For 14 episodes, the Austrian in his leading role as Werner Schumann inspired millions of viewers. They were later seen in popular TV formats such as “Das Traumschiff”, “Tatort” or “Tromhotel”. Wake has won countless awards over his long career, including two Bambis, three Golden Cameras, and a platinum “Romey” for his life’s work.
