They were the dream couple of the 1968 movement, but Rainer Langhans and Uschi Obermaier haven’t spoken to each other since 2007. So far: The model has sought to contact her former partner.
He was among the best-known members of the great Berlin “Commune 1” and became a symbol of the German hippie movement in the 1960s. However, by 2007 the film “The Wild Life” was finished. uschi obermeyer was shot, had a break with his former partner Rainer skipping.
“I wasn’t allowed on set. And there wasn’t even a mentor as discussed. In our last phone call, she just screamed,” complained the ex-jungle camper to “Build” newspaper. The former dream couple didn’t speak a word to each other for years. So far: After the Langhans announced his cancer in October 2020, Obermeier contacted him again.

The 80-year-old said, “Uschi wrote me an email from Portugal. She wants to reconcile, make peace. I am very happy with that.” She understood that she no longer had to hate him. Clearly a real surprise for the Langhans: “After all that has happened, I would never have expected it again.”
But it seems Obermeier has left past controversies behind him: “Uschi wrote to me that she would remember our time together as a wonderful love story. I’m so happy because I’ve always done that.”
Langhans has had prostate cancer since the summer of 2020. It’s “offensive and incurable,” the 80-year-old told “Build.” In November 2020, he later announced that the cancer had spread. Doctors found small tumors on the hip, collarbone, lumbar vertebrae and costal arch. Since then, Langhans has been undergoing hormone therapy. So far he has ruled out chemotherapy.
