Messenger service WhatsApp has done a new job of sending videos for a few weeks. Till now it was available only to beta version users.

Munich – WhatsApp messaging service often provides updates for applications that introduce new functions. This was also the case in mid-February, when version 2.21.3.19 was introduced, which enables, for example, detailed image processing and the sending of self-destructive messages. Now there is another new button that can be used to mute the video before sending it. According to a report by the portal, the innovation was among other things Smartdroid Initially available only to users of the beta version of the app, now all WhatsApp users can access it on Android.

“You can now extract sounds while sharing videos. Just tap on the mute symbol before sending, ”says the new update in the Google Play Store. At Apple, the function is not listed in the current version in the App Store.

New whatsapp button on android: send video without sound

In the Instagram app, which, like WhatsApp, belongs to Facebook groups, users can choose for their stories from a long time whether they want to publish their videos with original sound or are silent. This function is useful, for example, if you can hear annoying noises or inappropriate comments in the background. WhatsApp users can now decide for themselves: should a video be sent with or without sound?

Sending WhatsApp video without sound on Android: Here’s how

If you want to determine for yourself whether the original sound of the video clip is for the recipient of the message, you can do so in the editing function of the app. Text and stickers can be inserted here before the video is sent, the video can be cropped and, if necessary, muted for a new button. The duration and file size of the video are specified under the strip in which the editor edits individual frames of the clip. To the left of these two pieces of information is now the symbol of a loudspeaker: sound can be switched here or from it. If the loudspeaker is crossed, the video will be played back without sound after the editing is complete.

Video: New on WhatsApp – Self-Erase Message

New WhatsApp function: this is how forwarded video can be muted

The matting only works for videos that you upload to the Messenger service, not for forwarded messages. So if you want to send to a video that you have received from a colleague or friend, for example, without sound, you have to take a little detour. Instead of forwarding the message as before, the video clip must again be uploaded directly from the cell phone’s own memory to a chat with the person who is to receive the video without sound. WhatsApp usually automatically saves the videos watched in your phone’s memory, so it is easy to find videos here. After uploading, the process is the same for a video that you recorded yourself: open the clip in the editor, mute to the bottom left, save the changes and send.

WhatsApp: Trouble with the app

WhatsApp is part of the Facebook group, and is always angry about the privacy of users and the protection of personal data. The application is popular because it sometimes enables fast communication thanks to new practical functions and wider usage. A more drastic change in the Terms of Use was planned for February, but was initially postponed for a few months due to strong disapproval of users. (I)
