TOKYO (AP) – German wheelchair basketball players have also won their third game at the Paralympics.

After two victories over Australia and Great Britain, national coach Dennis Nohl’s team defeated Canada by just 59:57 and led Group A as the only unbeaten team. Germany’s team has already reached the quarter finals. Anne Patzwald corrected the win with a converted throw 14 seconds before the end. The best shooter was the flag bearer Mariek Miller with 19 points.

The men, on the other hand, suffered a second defeat in the third group game. National coach Nikolai Zeltinger’s team lost against Australia in 53:64 and will have to fear for the quarter-finals in Group B. The best four teams from two groups of six qualify for the knockout rounds.

The German team was already behind with 11:21 after the first quarter and could not get close to the Aussies during the game. Aliksandra Halouski was the best thrower with 13 points. Algeria awaits the German team on Sunday.
