Winterthur needs an extra room for school administration

School and sports departments and social services require additional jobs, for which there is no longer enough space in the superblock. Therefore renting a total of 856 square meters of extended office space from Allreal Office AG in downtown Schützenstrasse 1/3 property.

The space requirements of the School and Sports Department and social services in the Social Department are linked to the ongoing population growth.

In order to meet the additional space requirements of the school administration and social services, the city of Winterthur – not far from the superblock – rents a total of 856 square meters on the second floor of Schützenstrasse for 1/3 of the property from Allreal Office AG for additional workplace and meeting room.

In the School and Sports Department, as a result of the ever-increasing number of pupils and supervisors, jobs have become tighter for the School and Computer Department (SHOOCOM), which has to do extra work due to the ongoing digitization in schools. and course requirements 21.

This department will be able to provide training rooms there for teachers and school administrators by going to the rented premises by train. By saying yes to the new municipal regulations on September 26th, Winterthur voters also approved a new school authority organization.

This reform of officials, which will go into effect from the school year 2022 to early 2023, will inevitably require additional jobs in the school and sports department.

This improvement will generate space requirements and where additional jobs will be located, currently being worked on in various organizational projects.

In social services, all three main departments of the superblock (social counseling, social insurance, professional support and care services) already have very little space and are expecting further growth in the number of clients.

The lease in the Schützenstrasse 1/3 property starts in early May 2022 and is currently limited to ten years. The landlord is responsible for the necessary expansion of the rental space.

The total rental cost (including amortization of tenant fit-out) amounts to CHF 362,400 per annum. These are the bound expenditure of the city administration which is properly budgeted.
