The World of Warcraft profession system has gathered a lot of dust now – and the developers of Blizzard know it too. So it’s even more gratifying that with the upcoming expansion Dragonflight we’ll be able to enjoy various innovations and adjustments that will (hopefully) make crafting interesting again. Some of these changes may already be rolled out in the current alpha version of Dragonflight, and the WoW team has explained some of them in more detail in an official blog post. That’s why we summarize for you what will happen with our trip to the Dragon Islands at WoW Businesses.
WARNING: The information below is based on the status of Dragonflight Alpha. A few things may change before the expansion is released.
Profession in WoW: Dragonflight – Common Changes
WoW developers face various problems with the professions in Dragonflight. This includes managing resources and batch sizes for the reagents. A new reagent bag, which is similar to a material store and has its own pocket space, is intended to provide a better overview of resource management. You can stack reagents up to 1,000 (above 200) and most consumables up to 200 (below 20).
Another innovation in the profession system with Dragonflight is the so-called reconstruction. This feature allows you to repurpose an item by combining the item, certain reagents, and artisanal brilliance. This allows you to adjust the optional reagents of the equipment in question and improve the quality of the item. In addition to remanufacturing, you need the reagent craftsman’s readiness to carve consumables that help you equip your businesses, as well as special profession tools.
Professional Tools in WoW: Dragonflight
Speaking of profession tools: You can use a total of three specialty equipment items for almost all occupations in Dragonflight, including one tool and two accessories. These slots ensure that you no longer have to carry blacksmith’s hammers, fishing rods, skinning knives and similar items in your inventory if you want to practice your profession. It is also no longer necessary to replace the items.

However, the new profession equipment you can craft through your occupations has other advantages: you can use it to benefit from various bonuses, for example, improving your stats for collecting and crafting Do it. In addition, they provide visual enhancements: if your character performs a crafting action, he puts on his professional equipment and uses it to transform his outfit. The developers have shown exactly what it looks like in several screenshots:
Crafting Station: Base of Businesses in Dragonflight
wow profession (buy now) The upcoming expansion should again be more fun and, above all, give players the opportunity to craft competitive equipment for Dragonflight Endgame. Among other things, there are new crafting orders, with which players can commission other players to produce certain items. You also have the opportunity to improve your skills in a specific profession in a variety of ways.

This is where so-called crafting stations come into play, of which there must be a separate copy for each profession on the Dragon Islands (except for cooking and blacksmithing, more on that later). Almost all the recipes you use with your profession in Dragonflight require such a crafting station. The capital of the Dragon Islands, Waldrakken has a special profession center where you can find crafting stations, profession trainers, NPCs for crafting orders, and auction houses.
Jewelcrafting and inscription – checking and milling will be updated
With Dragonflight, WoW developers want to make it easier for jewelcrafters and transcriptionists to test and grind reagents. Dragonflight has related recipes for each expansion’s oregano and herb, for example “Probing the Shadowlands” for the oregano of Shadowlands. In the corresponding window you can directly select the amount of ores or herbs you want to process.

Blacksmith in Dragonflight – What’s Changing
We can already try for ourselves what’s happening for Schmid in Dragonflight in the expansion’s alpha. The new interface in particular is worth a look. As always, you can select learned recipes on the left and display unlearned recipes as well. A progress bar shows you how far your dragonflight profession has progressed – so far, so much known. A new feature is the ability to track recipes like search. This allows you to see at a glance which reagents you need for each recipe, without having to open the recipe book.
Similar to Shadowlands, you can also add optional reagents to recipes. There are two slots for each item. In addition, you can combine two so-called “refining” reagents in the form of different oils when preparing an item. These reagents affect the crafting process: Essence of Tire, for example, increases your crafting skill by 30 points when used when using a recipe.

A separate tab next to slots for optional reagents shows you the crafting details. Here you can see at a glance:
- How difficult is it to prepare the selected item
- What crafting skills do you have (improving the quality of items)
- How high is the motivation (probability with which you produce the item, including 17 bonus skill points)
Finally, under the Details tab, you will see a bar that shows you the quality of the manufactured item. The more items of this type you produce, the higher the chances of good quality. As of the current alpha level, the items Blacksmiths can craft in Dragonflight include:
- shield
- weapons, weapons
- Tools (pickaxe, blacksmith’s hammer, sickle)
- Consumables (repair hammer that lets you repair tools)
- sharpening stones for weapons
- Items still unknown (probably armor) for Dragon Riding
So you see: the profession system in Dragonflight is being turned inside out. As WoW developers reveal more details and implement changes in the alpha and beta of the upcoming expansion, we’ll gradually introduce you to other businesses with their adjustments. Until then, we want to know from you: What do you think of the innovations? Write us your opinion in the comments!
