Wuppertal – If a luxury car passes over Wupper…
On Friday morning, students and passers-by from the neighboring school bowed their heads and were shocked. A second Wuppertal world spectacle after baby elephant Tuffy, who fell a meter deep into Wupper (and survived) from the suspension railway in 1950? not enough. The new “Rolls-Royce Ghost Black Badge” (V12, 600 hp, about 360,000 euros) was shown as the European premiere in the city that evening to about 100 invited guests.
The famous manufacturer chose the old gas boiler on Wupper as the venue – today the venue and the “Visiodrome”, in which shows are presented on the walls.
It was a lot of work to get the three-ton car there. Christian Hohr from “Visiodrome”: “We flexed part of a five-millimeter-thick steel roof and then attached it to a crane for safety.”
The luxury body was then tilted, hoisted to a distance of 70 meters and carefully maneuvered through a triangular cutout.
The luxury vehicle is pulled out again on Sunday morning and the roof is locked.
The cost of action is protected like the British crown jewel. That’s it: This year Rolls-Royce set a sales record.
